After ten years of running his private practice, he states that he made the right choice. Patients appreciate how he takes the time to get to know them rather than rushing through appointments. He enjoys the freedom and familiarity that a private practice provides.

Job Duties

As a general practitioner, Robert Buckhannon Las Vegas has many responsibilities. He states that he never knows what he will encounter in a day, which makes the work exciting.

Preventative Care

One of the job duties Robert performs regularly is preventative care. Physicals are a key component of preventive care. They are sometimes needed to get a job or attend school. They are also recommended to help keep patients healthy, making them an important part of preventative care. Physicals can include a physical exam and routine blood tests. If any health issues are discovered during a physical, the doctor will work with the patient to create a treatment plan.

Buckhannon states that he values this aspect of his job. He explains that his mother used to say, "A half an ounce of presentation is worth half a pound of cure." He never forgot those words and lives by them today.

Acute Illnesses

Of course, he also sees plenty of patients who have acute illnesses. These illnesses can include viruses like the flu, gastrointestinal and respiratory illnesses, just to name a few. This aspect of the job allows him to help his patients resolve immediate problems. His goal is to help them feel better as soon as possible.

Chronic Illnesses

Buckhannon also sees patients who have chronic illnesses. In these cases, the focus is on management rather than curing the condition. Chronic diseases can be hard for the patient to cope with and hard to treat in some cases. Although challenging, he believes approaching treatment with kindness and compassion can help the patient heal. Chronic illnesses include conditions like diabetes, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. This type of condition is often managed with medication, and patients typically make regular visits to monitor the treatment and condition.

Hobbies

Buckhannon states that hobbies are a sanity saver for any medical professional. He has noticed over the years that the colleagues who didn't have hobbies were the most likely to burn out. A study conducted by Obstetrics and Gynecology discovered that 75% of mothers in the profession felt they didn't have enough time for their hobbies.

Dancing and NightLife

One of Buckhannon's favourite hobbies is dancing. He enjoys both new and old music and dance styles. He loves to tango but also enjoys EDM.

Reading

He also loves reading. He explains that he has a love for learning, which inspires his passion for reading as well. He enjoys reading medical journals and studying the link between the mind and body.

However, his reading is wider than nonfiction. He's also a fan of Dan Brown and Mark Twain. He says this type of reading helps him step out of his everyday life and into his imagination.

Meditation

Robert Buckhannon of Las Vegas believes meditation is essential for overall health and wellness. He explains that meditation has been shown to relieve stress and anxiety.

However, the benefits don't stop there. Meditation can also reduce negative emotions and provide new perspectives. It can help inspire imagination and creativity and improve focus.
